Film Festival Cologne to screen Iran’s ‘A Hero’

Iranian feature ‘A Hero’ is to participate in the Film Festival Cologne in Germany.

Iranian feature ‘A Hero’ by internationally acclaimed director Asghar Farhadi has been set to participate in the Film Festival Cologne in Germany.

The movie will be screened at the “Best of Cinema International” section of the German event next month.

‘A Hero’ is about Rahim, a divorced man who has been imprisoned due to an unpaid debt. During a two-day leave, Rahim tries to prove that he is a good person.

The movie is starring Amir Jadidi, Mohsen Tanabandeh, and Fereshteh Sadr-Orafaee.

‘A Hero’ was awarded the Grand Prix at the 74th Cannes Film Festival in France. The prize was also shared by Juho Kuosmanen’s ‘Compartment n°6’.

“In his latest film, Oscar winning director Asghar Farhadi (A Separation) once again masterfully explores the depths of moral grey areas,” the Film Festival Cologne said on its website.

Farhadi’s films ‘A Separation’ (2011) and ‘The Salesman’ (2016) won two Oscars for best foreign language film.

The Film Festival Cologne will open on October 21.

“The renowned Film Festival Cologne awards will be presented on October 28 at the E-Werk in Cologne,” the website of the event reads.
